One: Mom will be coming home today. I won't be home when she gets home but knowing she'll be there makes me happy. I am calmer than I have been in days and never been more happy to be proven wrong in my life! :D

Two: I got a 5 star review on my lesbian steampunk pr0n! :D This sets up a bad precedent to me... XD To celebrate my first 5 star review on my first published short story, I've added a poster of the cover art in the Zazzle shop. The art work is once again by the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] nocturnian, who helps me infect the world with my demented ideas. ;) You can see her comic and more of her art here.

Now that things are settling down, my hand is actually TWITCHING to write. I am not even joking. I feel the pen in my hand like a phantom limb.

Also, I went to see the last Harry Potter movie. To avoid any spoilers I will say only this: I laughed, I cried, I LOVED it. Go see it. ;)

I watched this a while ago but I'm using the time spent sick in bed to get things done.

I spent a good deal of Suspiria with a WTF look on my face but certainly not in a bad way. XD I certainly liked this movie. It was absolutely beautiful. the cinematography, the music, the way the kill scenes were put together. All of it pure horror movie camp. Which I love! :) Now, on to what bothered me...

Er, these are kinda spoilerish...

The evil villains are witches, right? And the general consensus in the movie is that witches are evil because they are witches. I can accept that (although that's not very original), seeing as how they were murdering the students in the school. But the WHY was never mentioned. They are witches so they are evil so they are killing people because they don't wanna be found out to be witches. That's it. Other than that, they teach ballet. In fact, the only time the witches do anything bad is when the kids start snooping around! Now, being chased into a pit full of barbed wire is a harsh punishment for trespassing but these witches have no plans to take over the world, steal souls for Lucifer, make the dancers all horny to steal their sexual energy, nothing. They meet and cackle evilly and... That's about it. o_O

It's a cool movie and I'd totally watch it again but I demand a little more from my villains. It all smacks of a more innocent time where the Satanic Panic was all you needed for a decent villain. But for a night of popcorn and beer (or soda for your youngunz) with a movie to amuse you, I say go for it. :)

Dreamhunter is almost done with it's typo crawl and now has a dedication and all that fun sort of crap. XD So, it will be up on Create Space by the end of the week. They say it takes 3-5 days for the book to end up on Amazon so I'll make up dates all around when that happens. ;)

I've also started working on a Zazzle shop where the ATQM logo will be slapped on entirely too much merchandise to be healthy.

I'm trying to submit Go Away Girls and Gods in the Grey City (formally known as Ciro and Tia) to this web fiction archive (where it can later be voted on) but they have a 4k word minimum. What, do you think I wouldn't continue such AWESOME stories!? For shame... *wags finger* The point here being that I think I could effing DOMINATE that list. >D Easily. So be prepared for me to start hassling people to vote for my site daily.

In other news, they started full on construction on the house now that the board of whoevers finally said we could change our own house. T_T It all sounds as you would expect a couple of guys demolishing the second floor of a house TO sound, so I am glad to be at work even though it's a holiday. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be icy rain so I doubt they'll be there. I took Tuesday off  to enjoy the boring adult job of registering my monster kid for school in the fall. Ah, soon I shall once again know the joys of being on vacation yet having the house to myself. >} At least for part of the day. This is only pre-k we're talking about here.

Oh, and while I didn't type it up, I finished that script. As soon as it's typed, I'll be passing it on to my partner in crime so she can work her magic. Hopefully us working together won't make the universe explode from the sheer amount of awesome.

Speaking of awesome, I do need to type up my thoughts on Scott Pilgrim vs The World and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. I'll also be watching Suspiria tonight. See, I'm cheap and apethetic towards most things, not to mention a cynic and possesor of a pitifully small attention span, so I miss things when they are all shiny new. Hence the late reviews. ^_^ Wait till you get my thoughts on Firefly. I gotta watch the first disk again because I had too much fun watching it and don't remember exactly what happened. I am very special. ^_^

Best be getting back to work, kiddiez. Stay safe and stay warm 'cause it's too fucking cold!!! >O

This has been a pretty shitty week (including the weekend). Between chronic problems with hubby's car and a stupid fight with a friend, life seemed generally in the shitter.

Until now. ^____^

That's right guys and dolls, "Dreamhunter" is ready to be purchased in print or as a PDF for your hungry little brains to digest.

Now that all the drama is over, I can get back to work and get a less ugly site up and ready to go. Writing will take time, though. Stress is like a kick in the nads to my muse. We both need a deep breath, some quiet time to heal, and perhaps a couple beers.

And hugs. Plenty of hugs.

Oh, and this is WIN. The Last Airbender movie sucked ass. Fan or no fan - and I am a HUGE fan of this cartoon - there was only a single redeeming factor in this movie: the effects. Elements are bended, glowy tattoos glow, but for 12$ a ticket, I feel ripped off and Shyamalan owes me 2 hours of my life back. The universe was already built, the story already written, HOW THE BLOODY FUCKING HELL DO YOU SCREW THAT UP??? HOW!

Who indeed!

I plan to watch that documentary tonight and reading the promos and looking at books along the same lines and it's got me thinking: I don't see much on women who have kids, work full time, and THEN try to cram their creative outlets in any spare few seconds they can find. Not that I'm the type to go scraping at new frontiers or look down on stay at home moms who try and fit their art in around their kids, but working full time with kids AND striving to keep your creative fire is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Who who the hell do I think I am? Ballz out, I want to say, "Whoever the fuck I want, bitchez!" Ahhh, if only life were that simple. First off, I LOVE my job. I don't want to quit. In fact, the thought of quitting my job to pursue my dream is shooting myself in the foot. Librarianship is PART of my dream. It helps me be who I am as much as writing and drawing so why the heck would I give it up? And d00d, all the books I can get my grubby little hands on for FREE! I'd be stupid to give this up. Second, I don't DO stay at home mom. I practically went batshit crazy on maternity leave and that was even with the hope of going back to work. You think the Lenni is crazy NOW, she'd be Yellow Wallpaper crazy under the yoke of housewifery. Other women can do it, I can't. I like having a career. It makes me feel independent and useful.

I get a LOT of questions from other women in my life asking me how I was able to complete a novel, start another one, write a bevy of short stories, keep a full time job, have a side business, draw, and all the while being around the kid enough for her to still remember what I look like. And I have no idea. To try and figure that out (and as a cheap gimmick to pry more blog posts out of me) I'm starting Mommy Monday. The lovely trials and tribulations of how the bloody hell I manage all this with out being on mood elevators or booze.

There are many times in my life where I really just sit and wonder if there are any other women like me who not only have a Third Shift; but a fourth or quite possibly a fifth. If you find any, point them the way here. I'd certainly love to know who they are.
